**If a player is "grade-eligible", but turns too old in the month of July or August, we will make exceptions to the age eligibility.  For example, a player in the 4th grade who turns 11 on 8/4/17 could still be eligible for the 4th grade division.

TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to teams from all levels and organizations.  Teams will be participating from AAU, YBOA, USSSA, and Parks and Recreation All-Star teams.  We will be offering age groups starting at 2nd Grade - 8th Grade, and we will also have 16U and 18U Open Divisions.  Each age group will have multiple skill divisions (space permitting).  Some age groups may be combined with the next grade level, depending on numbers.  We will NOT move anyone up more than 1 grade level.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each team will be guaranteed at least 3 games.  Teams will compete for Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals in each division.  Exact number of games in pool play will be determined by the number of teams registered.

TOURNAMENT RULES: The official playing rules will be the NFHS rules for the current year (2016-2017) as modified by AAU (Stopped Clock) along with the following exceptions and additions:
  • 2nd Grade - 6th Grade games will be 14-minute halves with a 3-minute overtime if needed.  7th grade and older games will be 16-minute halves with a 4-minute overtime if needed.  5-minutes will be given for warm-ups with an 5-minute halftime.
  • Game time is forfeit time.
  • If a team is ahead by 20 or more points, the game will go to a running clock.  If the lead drops back to below 20 points, stopped clock will resume.
  • 3 one-minute timeouts per team per game.
  • The first team listed on the schedule will be treated as the home team, and they will be expected to wear light colors.  ALL teams must be prepared with either two sets of different colored jerseys or a reversible jersey.
  • Seeding from each pool will be determined by win-loss record in pool play.  In the event of a tie, head-to-head results will be the tiebreaker.  If 3 teams are tied, then teams will be seeded based on point differential.  There is a maximum of +15 in a win, and -15 in a loss.  If teams are still tied, then fewest points allowed will be the tiebreaker.
  • Players may only play for one team within your same age division.
  • 6th grade and under will use a 28.5' ball, while 7th and 8th grade will use a regulation ball.
