COMPETITION SITE: Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center

COMPETITION DATES: June 23-25


ENTRY FEE: $375 per team with a 4-game guarantee
      **Early-bird discount of $325 per team if team has registered by March 31st!!

**MULTI-TEAM DISCOUNT!** Multi-team discount of $300 per team when both the Boys and Girls teams from a particular school register together. Online registration will be available for this discount for a total of $600. If you would like to pay by check or separate checks, coaches must complete the entry form (above), and send in each entry form together with a check(s) made payable to the “Powerade State Games of NC”. 

FINAL ENTRY DEADLINE: June 9th - Or whenever the tournament reaches capacity, whichever comes first.

ENTRY INFORMATION: North and South Carolina High School intact varsity teams are eligible. Teams will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis, so be sure to register your team as early as possible.  Teams who register before May 12th will be able to request preferred game times for games on Friday.  Tournament size will be determined by Powerade State Games office. Late entries will only be accepted if space permits.

DIVISIONS:
  • Boys High School - Division is open to ALL High School Boys varsity teams.  Division will be open to both Independent and public schools (BACK FOR 2017!).
  • Girls High School - Division is open to ALL High School Girls varsity teams. Division will be open to both Independent and public schools (BACK FOR 2017!). 


ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS:
 Coaches are encouraged to register their teams online at the top of this page (Register Now) where they can pay the entry fee via Credit Card.  Teams will also have the option to send rosters and entry fees in the mail by following the steps below:

         FOR MAIL IN ENTRIES:

  • Coaches should use the team reservation form located in the PDF above.
  • Send the team reservation form and entry fee to the State Games office.
  • After your reservation form and fee are received, you will receive a confirmation of your entry.


PLAYER ELIGIBILITY RULE:
 If a player or a team's roster becomes in question, the roster should be signed by a school administrator verifying that all players are either currently enrolled or will be enrolled for the 2017-2018 academic year.

ROSTER INFORMATION:
 ALL coaches will be required to enter their roster online by June 16th! You will receive instructions in your confirmation email on how to enter your roster online. The Coach Login Page is where you will go to do this. All coaches must also print out the Team Roster Form (PDF above) and have all players' parents (if under age of 18) sign the form. This form will need to be turned into the Competition Manager on-site no later than one hour before the first game. You also have the option to utilize the online roster to have parents to consent to the waiver digitally. Click here for more information on how to do so.

FORMAT:
 Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of four games.  Teams will have pool play over Friday and Saturday (potentially early Sunday), and then teams could earn bonus games in bracket play if they advance.  Some teams will play as many as 6 games over the 3 days.

AWARDS:
 The top three teams in each division will receive gold, silver and bronze medals. Only the individuals listed on the roster will receive medals.

SPECIAL INFORMATION:
2016-2017 NCHSAA rules will be in effect with the following exceptions/additions:

  • Teams must wear their high school jerseys. Please make sure you bring a second, different colored jersey as well. Practice jerseys are acceptable as well, as long as the team name is on the front with a unique number on the back.
  • Players must be eligible 12th, 11th, 10th or 9th graders or under during the 2017-2018 school year. No graduated seniors may participate in this division.
  • The head coach of each team must be a member of the school’s faculty and must be on the team bench at all times during his or her team’s games. Any exceptions must be approved by the State Games office prior to the tournament.
  • Game time is forfeit time.
  • Roster limit is 15 players, three coaches and one scorekeeper. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Each team must have an experienced scorekeeper. If you do not provide a scorekeeper to sit at the scorers’ table, your team will not play. Scorekeepers MUST both sit at the table.
  • Final roster deadline is June 16th.
  • No player under 18 is allowed to play without having the Agreement to Participate signed by a parent or legal guardian. Coaches may not sign the form for a player.
  • Head coaches must check in at the tournament at least one hour before their first game.
