YOUTH       OPEN/MASTERS


COMPETITION SITE:  Wake Forest University  (Winston-Salem, NC)

COMPETITION DATES:  Youth:  Saturday, June 9, 2012 

                                       Masters/Open:  Sunday, June 10, 2012

ENTRY FEE INFORMATION:   

  • Youth - $5 per event  (4 events Max; Sub-Bangams, Bantams and Midgets are limited to 3 events.)
  • Masters - $30 for one event plus $5 for each additional event

EVENT DETAILS

Youth:  There will NOT be onsite registration available the day of the event for the youth track meet!! 

 Masters:  Onsite registration will be available at the Kentner Stadium Press Box from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Sunday for Masters Divisions only. On-site registration for the Master's divisions will be closed at the start of the meet. No registrations will be accepted after registration has closed.

COMPETITION FORMAT:

  1. This meet will be sanctioned by USA Track & Field.  USATF, AAU or track club memberships are not required to participate in the Powerade State Games Track Meet.
  2. This meet will follow a rolling start schedule for all events. In the Youth Divisions, the order will be from youngest to oldest with girls followed by boys except in some hurdle events.
  3. All participants are responsible for being present for their events.
  4. Youth track and field events listed below will be held on Saturday.
  5. Masters track and field events will be held on Sunday.
  6. Masters events are offered in 5 year increments.
  7. There are absolutely NO refunds due to inclement weather.  Any decisions to cancel a meet due to inclement weather will be up to the State Games Meet Director and the Wake Forest University Facility representative.

Youth Competition Details:

•  The meet will start at 9:00 a.m. and will run with a rolling start for all events.

•   All events will be run as times finals except 100 meters. If 8 or less competitors report for         the 100m, it will be run as a final during the time of the Semis.

•  In the Youth Divisions, the order will be from youngest to oldest with girls followed by boys       except in some hurdle events.

•  Sub Bantams, Bantams and Midgets are limited to three (3) events. All other divisions are           limited to four (4) events.

•   Participants must provide their own field instruments.  

•   You must report to the clerk at “First Call” for your event. 

•   Some races may be combined with approval of Meet Director.

•   All events will be run as a timed final, except for the 100m Dash.

•   Only athletes performing in an event and meet officials are allowed on the track and infield        during the competition.

•   Participants in field events must be prepared to provide their own implements.

•   All participants must be able to provide proof of age upon request at all times during the           event.

Masters Competition Details: 

  1. Events will be run oldest to youngest, women followed by men.  Exceptions will be made in the hurdles and field events.
  2. Note: 4x400 relay events will be added for the Masters if there are enough entries. All relays must be declared by noon. Relays will be held after the 200 meter.
  3. All events will be run as timed finals. Masters meet will start at 10 a.m. 
  4. Masters events for 2012 are being offered in 5 year increments. 
  5. All participants must provide their own field equipment.

AWARDS: The top three finishers in each event will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.
